Majestic and tall
This morning we woke to a clear sky, and Mount Kilimanjaro was majestically silhouetted, as if she was waking up as well. Standing there watching the sunrise, a cup of coffee in hand, listening to the birdsong, with Kili in the distance…who could think of a better place to be?

It wasn’t long before we came across a giraffe and her baby. More curious than us, they stood still and watched us go by.
The locals continue to greet us and then run away. Intrigued, yet so unsure.
After many negotiations, Krasa, the drovers and Rory found a watering hole for the very thirsty camels to drink. They dipped their heads down and sucked and slurped the water in…apparently 20 litres each, enough to last them for the next five days.

Right before finding our camp for the night, we ran into a very large elephant, across the lugga (dry river bed). Like Kilimanjaro, he stood tall, majestically watching over us.
